MPA Presidential Campaign

It is a true honor to be nominated for the MPA President-Elect position.

I am a licensed Counseling & Forensic Psychologist who trained at Boston Children’s Hospital and at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Children & the Law Program. As current Director of Health & Wellness at a Boston-based arts high school, I have the immense pleasure of supporting the emotional wellness of youth artists and of de-stigmatizing mental health in the process.  My various experiences practicing in hospitals, schools, juvenile courts, and in private practice has led to specialties in children/adolescents, parenting capacity evaluations, school consultation, cross-cultural competency, clinical supervision, women’s issues, and media relations.

Since joining MPA in 2004, I have been actively involved on the board and in various committees (i.e., Strategic Planning Task Force, Public Education Committee, Early Career Psychologists (ECP) Committee, Conference Planning Committee, CEMA).  Currently, I serve on the MPA Board, and have represented MPA at the APA State Leadership Conference as Diversity Delegate for the past 3 years.  Additionally, I was elected as Chair of the Diversity Subcommittee for APA’s Committee of State Leaders (2017-18) and was selected to participate in APA’s Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology (2017-18). I am truly grateful for the impact that MPA has had on my professional career and leadership growth.

In its 76-year history, MPA has cemented its legacy as a change-maker by advocating for psychologists, increasing access to mental health treatment for our clients, and leading conversations on social justice. I am proud to have contributed to the advocacy initiatives by speaking to our state representatives locally and on Capitol Hill.  With the 2016 Strategic Plan, MPA has prioritized developing a technology plan, diversifying revenue, increasing member diversity, and building member community, and I wholeheartedly agree that these initiatives are essential to MPA’s continued growth.

As MPA President, I will work collaboratively with the MPA leaders and membership to implement the strategic plan, to continue MPA’s legacy of advocating for psychologists and our clients, and to ensure that MPA is well-positioned to serve the next generation of psychologists.

Thank you for your consideration!
